It’s pretty safe to say that homemade recipes not only taste better but are much healthier too. We forget how easy homemade condiments are to prepare, not to mention how much better for you they are without all the additives that exist in store bought options. Here we focus on making Dijon mustard with just seven simple ingredients. A favorite accompaniment to any sandwich, BBQ, or corned beef dish. Also good for sprucing up salad dressings.

Ingredients:

2 tablespoons shallot, finely chopped

1/3 cup + 1/4 cup North Coast Apple Cider Vinegar

1/3 cup dry white wine

3 tablespoons brown mustard seeds

3 tablespoons yellow mustard seeds

2 tablespoons raw honey

1 teaspoon salt

1/2 teaspoon pepper

Directions:

Combine all ingredients except the 1/4 cup apple cider vinegar in a small mason jar and let sit in the refrigerator overnight. With a NutriBullet or other high-speed mixer, blend the mixture on high until the mustard seeds are no longer seen (about one minute). Add the additional 1/4 cup apple cider vinegar and blend until mustard reaches your desired consistency.
